December 15, 2006 To The Ends of The Earth…
Verse for the week:
Verse for the week:
Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months. And he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. James 5:17-18
Quote for the week:
"Do not we rest in our day too much on the arm of flesh? Cannot the same wonders be done now as of old? Do not the eyes of the Lord still run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those who put their trust in Him? Oh, that God would give me more practical faith in Him! Where is now the Lord God of Elijah? He is waiting for Elijah to call on Him." - James Gilmour of Mongolia

Other News:
Oh, to have the faith of Elijah! Oh, to pray like Elijah! But is it possible? James says that Elijah was just like us. Isn't the Bible glorious?! Elijah was just like us! He wasn't some superhuman or supersaint. Elijah simply believed God and prayed fervently - and the earth's weather bowed to the Creator's wishes through Elijah's prayers. May our prayers be trusting and fervent - and may the nations bow to the Creator's wishes through our prayers! Praise Him!!

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray." - Samuel Chadwick
