Verse for the week:
Verse for the week:
And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. (Ex. 19:6a)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people (1 Pet. 2:9a)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people (1 Pet. 2:9a)
Quote for the week:
"If the church would only awaken to her responsibility of intercession, we could well evangelize the world in a short time. It is not God's plan that the world be merely evangelized ultimately. It should be evangelized in every generation. There should be a constant gospel witness in every corner of the world so that no sinner need close his eyes in death without hearing the gospel, the good news of salvation through Christ." - T. A. Hegre
People Group of the week:
Pray for the island nation of Fiji, which is currently suffering political turmoil. Pray also for the many young women who are trapped in the "sex tourism" industry in Fiji. Our church supports a ministry called Shared Hope International (www.sharedhope.org) that has a great outreach to these young girls. Please pray for them.

Other News:
In the OT, God told the people of Israel that He had ordained them as a "kingdom or priests" (Ex. 19:6) for the nations. Their role as priests meant that they were to serve the nations and interceed for them. In 1 Pet. 2:9, God tells us that WE, as believers in Jesus, are now a "royal priesthood," which means that it is now our job is to serve and interceed for the nations. What a privilege to be considered a "royal priesthood" for Jesus Christ! What a blessing to serve and interceed for ALL nations! It is both a duty and a delight to be a part of God's awesome plan to redeem all nations. May we all be faithful priests in service to God!

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray." - Samuel Chadwick
