October 20, 2006 To The Ends of The Earth

Verse for the week:
My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to my name, because my name will be great among the nations, says the LORD Almighty. Malachi 1:11

Quote for the week:
Could it be that many of our problems with prayer and much of our weakness in prayer come from the fact that we are not all on active duty, and yet we still try to use the transmitter? We have taken a wartime walkie-talkie and tried to turn it into a civilian intercom to call the servants for another cushion in the den - J.P.

Other News:
As Joe mentioned earlier, he will be India for the next month. We can continue to be prayerful for him, their group, RGMMI, and God's work in India. In his absence a few of us will be sending out the email to you all. I apologize in advance for any formatting or technical difficulties that may occur.

As I'm writing this email a map in my room is in front of me (I like maps). It's a world map with dots representing the different people groups all over the world. Each dot is colored. Green dots mean that there is a higher percentage of Christians in that area and red denotes that there are very few believers and no active churches in that area. And there are other colors in between. It's sad and somewhat discouraging to see the red that is covering the 10/40 window. In this sea of red is Malaysia. I was talking with a Malaysian Christian this summer and he shared his heart for the Malay people of his country. While he spoke about their resistance to the Gospel, he also spoke of the hope that he has in God's promise.

I am reminded that we are in a battle, and we need to pray as such. Let us unite together in prayer this week as we join with God in His mission to the ends of the earth. Then they can make a new map based on God's assurance that His name WILL BE, not can be, great among the nations.

Prayer Points for the Malay of Malaysia
• Ask the Lord to send Christian laborers into Malaysia who understand the culture and religion. • Ask the Holy Spirit to grant wisdom and favor to the missions agencies that are presently working with the Malay.
• Pray for effectiveness of the Jesus film among the Malay.
• Pray that God will reveal Himself to the Malay through dreams and visions.
• Pray that the Malaysian government will give the people the freedom to share the Gospel with their countrymen.
• Take authority over the spiritual principalities and powers that are keeping the Malay bound. • Ask God to raise up prayer teams who will begin breaking up the soil through worship and intercession.
• Pray that strong local churches will be raised up among the Malay by the year 2000.

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray." - Samuel Chadwick
