Verse for the week:
And when Jesus was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it. (Luke 19:41)
Quote for the week:
"Prayer is the way to both the heart of God and the heart of the world - precisely because they have been joined through the suffering of Jesus Christ ... praying is letting one's heart become the place where the tears of God and the tears of God's children can merge and become the tears of hope." Henri Nouwen

Other News:
The word "wept" in the Verse of the Week literally means to "sob" or to "wail aloud." Jesus literally sobbed over Jerusalem's coming destruction. While on Earth, Jesus was not unaffected by the emotional experiences of His day. I don't things changed once He entered into heaven. As we open ourselves to the troubling realities of our world AND to the passion and heart of God radiating from heaven, we can't help but to feel the feelings of God and earnestly cry out, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!"
