August 24, 2007 To The Ends of The Earth

Verse for the week:
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, (Jud 1:20)

Quote for the week:
"How many Christians there are who cannot pray, and who seek by effort, resolve, joining prayer circles, etc., to cultivate in themselves the "holy art of intercession," and all to no purpose. Here for them and for all is the only secret of a real prayer life - "Be filled with the Spirit," who is "the Spirit of grace and supplication." - J. Stuart Holden

Seth Gerber (Magdalena, MX)- Please pray for wisdom, love, faith, and language skills as Seth serves in Magdalena. Pray he would embrace all challenges before him boldly, in the power of Jesus Christ.

Other News:
What a challenging Verse and Quote of the Week! It would seem that Scripture teaches us that a good "measuring stick" of our yieldedness to the Spirit is how seriously we take prayer. Wow. That's convicting. A good challenge to myself is not to pray for greater fervency in prayer but rather to pray that I may be more filled with the Spirit. He'll take care of the rest. What an awesome God!

Your Prayer Partner,

Joe G.

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray." - Samuel Chadwick
