Verse for the week:
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
Quote for the week:
“The reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came...Anticipate your battles; fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory.” - R. A. Torrey

Other News:Prayer time is important...but so is prayer timing. Seeking God's provision, wisdom, and presence before we undertake something or before we face great temptation or before we receive some bad medical news, for example, gives God the opportunity to prepare us for what lies ahead. This is difficult for me because I often pray out of a sense of immediate need rather than praying "out ahead" of my life, asking God to be in my future in any number of areas before I have any major or pressing need. In other words, prayer doesn't just help us persevere in the battle, prayer prepares us for the battle. In fact, as is mentioned frequently in this email, prayer is the battle. Once we're prayerfully prepared, victory lies on the horizon.
