January 19, 2007 To The Ends of The Earth…
Verse for the week:
Moreover concerning the stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for thy name’s sake; (for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy mighty hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house; hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
(1Ki 8:41-43)
Quote for the week:
"The time factor in prayer is very important. In the exercise of prayer God is not tied to our clocks. Neither is He at the other end of the phone to receive and answer our two-minute calls. It takes time to know the mind of God, to shut out the material things of earth and to be wholly abandoned."- Hugh C. C. McCullough

Other News:
I was recently challenged by the question - Do I fit prayer into my schedule or do I fit my schedule around prayer? Time is really our most precious commodity. We can't earn more of it. We all get the same 24 hours in a day. It's easy for me to TALK about prayer - but what does my schedule say about prayer? I am convicted by Paul's words to the Corinthians, "For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power." How true! Scripture does not exhort us to talk about prayer but to actually practice it. There's power in prayer! Thanks to each of you for being channels of God's power to those who have never heard!
Your Prayer Partner,
Joe G.

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray." - Samuel Chadwick
