November 16, 2006 To The Ends of The Earth

Verse for the week:

1 Cor. 2:1-2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Quote for the week:

We have become in missions so wrapped up in technology and methodology that we have forgotten that missions is number one, the releasing of divine dynamics.....Reaching the unreached will, first of all, mean for us not only to lay hold of it in faith, but to develop thousands and thousands of prayer cells that will commit themselves whole heartedly to prayer until the victory will be won. We need spiritual mobilization. George Peters

Other News:

God opened a door for me to speak the mystery of Christ (Col. 2:3) to my coworker friend. It was an interesting conversation because he doesn't believe in absolutes. He is kinda extreme in it—like he doesn't believe in gender and went to a college where they don't give grades. After sharing the gospel with not a lot of seen gains, I was driving home and saw many "Impeach Bush" signs. I live in a fairly liberal community. I asked God- "What do I, a middle class, white, conservative, woman—have to offer these people?" I felt God speak and say, "You do not have anything. I AM everything. Offer them Me."

Does that not reach to foreign missions? It doesn't matter if we have the best humanitarian efforts or the best ways to get into unreached nations (yea, those are great), but in the end all we really have to offer is God and He is more than enough.

Thanks for participating in the Prayer Chain on Sunday! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Prayer Points:

Pray for the Maguzawa Hausa as they take the Gospel to the Muslim Hausa.
Pray that Christian converts would be bold in the face of family pressure and persecution.
Ask the Lord to raise up loving Christians who are willing to share Christ with the Hausa.
Pray that God will open the hearts of the Hausa to the Gospel.
Ask God to encourage and protect the small number of Hausa believers.
A recent drought in Nigeria has been a tremendous hardship for the Hausa.
Pray that God will supply drinking water for the people and animals, and rain water for their crops.
Pray that a church will be raised up among the Hausa.
